Grow beans and peas
Beans and peas have a given place in our gardens where they have several functions. Because they grow quickly and have a winding growth habit, they are well suited to use as privacy screens. Let them wind up on a trellis and you have easily created a green wall that gives space. Plus, they are insanely tasty and healthy. We grow sugar peas, broad beans and kidney beans - all carefully selected based on both taste and aesthetics.
Beans and peas are fast-growing and can be sown directly into the garden once the soil has warmed up. They do best in a sunny location in well-drained soil. Increase the humus content by mixing in organic matter. Compost, manure and grass clippings also provide nutrients. Because they grow quickly, they need to continue to be watered throughout the season for maximum yield.
