How to harvest summer flowers - our best tips
Pick flowers often for richer blooms
Summer flowers are extremely prolific and the more you harvest the more they bloom. Therefore, make sure to collect bouquets often. Think before you cut them and find suitable branching where you cut. Often new shoots are coming up and you want them to have time to develop into a beautiful flower before they are harvested.

This is how you harvest summer flowers
- The best time to harvest flowers is in the morning, when the stems are springy.
- It is important to have sharp and clean secateurs when cutting the flower to maximize the durability of the vase.
- Place the cutting above a leaf attachment, then new flowers will soon break out there.
- Use cold water in the vase and feel free to mix in a splash of vinegar and a little sugar in the water to keep it fresh and nourish your cut flowers.
- Remove the leaves that will end up below the surface of the water and the water will stay fresh longer.
