SOWING AND HARVESTING BEET
Growing location : Outdoors or in a pallet collar in a sunny position. Beets thrive best in gaps and porous soil, preferably rich in humus and compost.
AT SOWING
Direct sow outdoors when the soil warms up in spring MAY-JUNE. For a longer harvest period: Sow in batches during the season.
Water the soil thoroughly before sowing. Make a furrow in the soil about 1-2 cm deep. Sow the seeds about 5 cm apart. If you grow several rows, keep a distance of about 30 cm between the rows. If you sow more densely, make sure to thin out to give the plants with the greatest vitality more room to grow.
Mark the sowing with markers. Specify the variety and date.
Water carefully from above so as not to wash away the seeds. Keep moist during germination.
DURING THE SEASON/OTHER TIPS
Water regularly throughout the season if it doesn't rain. It's better to water more and less often than to dab a little every day.
If necessary, protect with non-woven fabric against insect pests.
Fertilize a few times during the season.
HARVEST FESTIVAL
Harvest and enjoy. After about 3-4 months you can finally harvest..
