SOWING AND HARVESTING CHAMOMILE
Growing location : Grown outdoors/in a flowerbed, in a pallet collar or larger pot on the balcony in a sunny location (6-7 hours of sun/day).
Direct sow chamomile when the soil has warmed up. Prepare the land by clearing weeds, loosening the soil, watering and leveling the surface. Add nutritious potting soil and water. Spread the seeds over the moist surface and press them lightly, they should not be covered. Keep the soil moist during germination. It is also possible to sow chamomile in the autumn, then it will germinate early the following year.
Thinning . When the plants are about 0.5 cm tall, thin them out to about 20 cm between each plant so they have room to grow. Chamomile takes some time to establish itself so make sure to keep weeds at bay.
Feed a few times during the season to enjoy long, beautiful flowering.
Harvest the flowers when they are fully open. Beautiful in a bouquet or use the fresh or dried flowers in tea. If you leave the flowers in the flowerbed, they will willingly self-sow for the next season.
