Growing asters
Aster is a very grateful summer flower - it is easy to grow from seed and it is extremely productive and spits out flowers all summer. It is just as beautiful in the flowerbed as in the bouquet and it has a long shelf life in the vase. Overall, a very worthwhile flower that is included in our cultivations every year. Asters come in a multitude of colors and shapes - we have several lovely varieties in our range in soft pastel tones that will be a delicious addition to any bouquet! Aster is grown indoors in March-April and planted out when the risk of frost is over. To help it grow more upright, we usually stretch chicken wire over the growing box that the flower can wind its way up through.
